This has been coming for a while and now it seems that the NSF and AAS are at last fully getting behind the already award winning Atacama Large
Millimiter Array and completion of plans for full operations are slated for 2012. This will be the most powerful composite array ever created... it's
already very impressive.
Having all the various international groups "on-board" only required American approval of these two groups and Congress to "seal-the-deal." More
