The drug smuggling is also a way for corporations to boost their net-profits and thus increase the values of their stock. If drugs ceased to enter this country, you would see many large corporations go out of business due to cooked books and banks would lose a lot of money as well.

Michael Ruppert wrote extensively on this in "Crossing the Rubicon" (I strongly recommend this book not only for the drug trade but also for an account of what happened on 9/11; it all ties together) and one case he sites I was able to find on the internet. The European Union vs. RJR Nabisco.

This is a long read, but you will love it! (Well, not love but find very interesting.)
