The New ATS Member Blogging Service is Coming!

Coming Soon: Revamped Member Blogs

We've settled on a completely new blogging system for our member blogs.

The new ATS member blog system will be using Movable Type, a highly-regarded blogging system with excellent support and Documentation.

We reviewed several systems over the past few weeks, including a MySpace-like social network portal that was a significant disappointment. In the end, the broad list of features, customizability, and expandability will give our members a state-of-the-art blogging platform.

We're 1-2 weeks away from launching the new service. ATS Bloggers will have extensive ability to create a truly customized and personalized blog with full control over templates and styles.

Members who are interested in developing their own blogs should begin reviewing the documentation to familiarize yourself with the new blogging system.

Also, if you're familiar with Movable Type, we're taking suggestions for interesting Plug Ins to offer the best list of features from of blogging service.

2006 will be the summer of blogs on ATS as we crank up the "ATS Best Conspiracy Blog" contest through August 30th. So begin thinking of your blog theme and start planning your content. There will be several categories and prizes. More details in the coming weeks.

i.e.: Commercial/Personal/educational/Non-Profit
and the prices they quote on their page?
will Weblog have pass-thru costs?

Typo. The new ATS blogs will be free for any member with more than 50 posts.

Wow you have lowered the post standard too. I think the old one was 400.. I hope the new members appreciate that.

Will there be a way to transfer content for those of us who already have blogs, or will we need to manually transfer what we have?

I'm really looking forward to a new blogging system and hope it livens things up in the blogosphere. ATS had some stellar blogs and the last contest was awesome. Should be fun!

I can't find a pMachine --> Movable Type conversion utility, so it looks like a manual transfer.

We'll keep the old Blogs domain running with some overlap to give everyone time to move any content.

The new system has far more features (especially from a design standpoint) than the old, so the transition will be worth it. Our goal is to offer the the best free blogging system anywhere, so hold on to your hats.

well leave it to me to be the first noob. I tried the style generator that zed suggested and put it in the index template instead of the css.. now my index is gone and I cant find a option to restore to defaults like we had on the old system.

In your template section there is a pull down window that says "More actions"....

click on refresh templates after you've selected the template you want to refresh. It'll restore it to default.
