Holy Blood - The Young and the Useless

Let me get this straight, Jesus did the good deed with Mary and perpetuated the holy lineage to this day? What I want to know is how the heck did they get through the sixties in one piece? I mean, let's face it, sex, drugs, and rock & roll are pretty strong temptations. I can think of more than a few Jesuits who resigned their commissions for the freedom to persue their God given right of happiness. So how did the good family make it through those turbulent times without rejecting those traditional conservative family values? I mean, alot of kids tuned it, turned on, and even if they didn't entirely drop out, they hassled their parents over Vietnam. I'd like see a book about this subject.
