The other day I was going to do a thread about the 'Brazilian Stonehenge'. First though I did a search. I typed in Brazilian Stonehenge, and clicked search.

Results back said nothing there. It gave me a link like thingy to my saved search, but I have no idea what to do with that. So I wrote a small thread thinking I may be the first with this. But so many times before I did the same thing only for someone to reply "thread already started, please add to it", I thought I would go through the section Ancient Civilisations 1 by 1.

Lo and behold I found this...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

with the title being "Brazilian Stonehenge" discovered...

So why didnt it pick up my search? I aint being picky, but the frustration of having someone tell you your repeating something really pisses me off. :bnghd:

Thanks
McP.

I changed the Search through date range: to beginning, and got the thread you were directed to.

Thats something I didnt think of. Only problem is the thread in question was only 4 days old at the time of the search?! Seems a bit daft to me!

Now that is odd. If I left search to the default "3 months", it came up empty.

Go figger.

The reason for you not being able to find that topic is that you likely didn't change the default "Search for Matches in - thread POSTS only" to "thread SUBJECT lines only".

The exact term "brazilian stonehenge" is present in the subject line, but not in the actual post.

I managed to find it no problem dropping the date range down to one week.

The boolean search is extremely accurate, but you have to get the different settings correct.

If you put the words Brazilian and Stonehenge on 2 different lines in the search function, it also brings up the original thread. I rarely put more than one word in each search window.

I usually just use the google search feature that searchs ATS. I tried "brazilian stonehenge" and it found several threads that I think you were looking for?

On the search page its down below the boolean fields

Also when you're on the main forum index there is a google search bar that you can use to search ATS, BTS, PTS or the whole web.
