Firstly, Byrd reported nothing of the kind. The official reports are all there online for anyone who wishes to check, nothing 'other-worldy' was reported in any way shape or form, and there were no deaths during the expedition - which returned home in much the same undamaged condition as it had left. Hardly 'utterly defeated by saucer shape craft' eh?
Secondly, let's assume you ARE correct, and Nazi UFOs DID wipe out a huge US military invasion force. Now, we all know how Hitler and his minions had a penchant for 'appropriation' of other peoples countries. So here they are, sitting in a secret base in the Antartic, with the most advanced weapons on the face of the earth. Undefeatable, invincible weapons. They have just succesfully 'utterly defeated' a massive invasion force, a force equipped with the most modern armaments in the know world. So what do the Nazi ufonauts do next? Build on that and attack the nearest continent to grab a foothold, before restarting their world domination attempt - an attempt, which with the new flying saucer technology, can NOT be stopped? Nope. They go back to hiding it out in the inhospitable depths of the antarctic wastes for evermore.
Hmmmm....go figure.
