I thought i post this as i thought this storm was a pretty powerful and rare one for this time of year.
Packing winds of up to 105mph (170km/h), the typhoon is the strongest on record to have entered the South China Sea in May, the Hong Kong observatory
said.

So far the death toll is pretty low w/ only a reported 37 deaths which mostly resulted from a boat that capsized off Masbate, south of the main
island, Luzon.
Still thousands have been left homeless in the Philippines and it isn't done yet as the storm is expected to make landfall in Guangdong province
later on Wednesday or early on Thursday.
