But later realized that the information being reported on this is just spinning around in circles getting further and further away from any kind of real solution. And that, to me, from my experience, screams of a publicity hoax.

I will check some of the other sites now anyways. It's been quite awhile since I last searched on the Morgellons topic. But I will hang on to my skeptical view until I see something other than hype and spin on this subject.

I found this link at the top of ATS as an ad and although its for a product , it describes the mite as the Black Pepper Mite.
As well as using said product, people have also suggested microwaving clothes for 15 seconds to kill bug. Also freezing blankets, linen.
Apparently using protroleum jelly on eyebrows and eyelashes helps to assist that the
mites dont take hold to begin with in those areas.

. . . It is my purpose to inform you of what I think is a rapidly emerging infectious disease. I have seen patients with this disease in my practice. Whether or not you know it, you do as well.

One major organ system affected by this disease is the skin. Patients report itching, stinging, and biting sensations. Most report a ‘skin crawling’ sensation. Patients usually have severe excoriations from continued scratching. Many have large open sores. As a pediatrician, scabies would be high on my differential diagnosis list, but many other disorders might also be considered.

What makes this so different is that many patients have also noticed other skin symptoms and changes in their skin and hair. Some of the descriptions are quite bizarre and unlike anything I had ever been taught or observed. . .

Nano something because it is so hard to see. Machines? Nah. I was leaning towards machines, but my discovery of nanobacteria suddenly offered an explanation. Look at the Martian meteorite and tell me them bugs ain't tough. And anyone with a kidney stone can tell you just how real the pain is, and now there are people with a strain of this crap under their skin.

Nanobiology is somewhat of a new field, like in the last half dozen years. It is no wonder it is not listed in the medical journals yet, so an accurate diagnosis doesn't exist either.

Hi,I am new to forum but joined so I could share info.I have this morgellons .Ive had symtoms for over a year and the things going on in and on me are not delusional.I didnt tell anyone at first as it is definatly bizzare.Then i went to my father,im 46, and showed him.He was blown away.I have lupus.never had lymes but this goes way beyond weird,Im scared but people need to no.These lesions appear almost instantly sometimes and right before your eyes they will close!Im not crazy but if others have these symptoms it could cause someone alot of anguish.I also am so tired and sore all the time.cognitiveness is affected also.Also my dog has symptoms,this is serious.if you want more info feel free.

The medical community is finally coming 'round to this issue, it seems. Have you been to the doctor yet? What area of the country do you live? When did you first start experiencing the symptoms?

I should be tested for lyme. About two years ago I was in Martha's Vineyard and while taking a shower I noticed a tick on my leg. I carefully removed it and didn't think anything of it. And as for creepy crawlies feeling I do get them. and red itchy skin, no fibers tho, docter said it was ring worm and I work with animals.

It has to be one of the most horrible things to deal with because of the lack of acceptance this phenomena carries with it. Not to mention the physical aspects. I wish you the best and I hope that perhaps your being infected with this weird something can be used for a positive and to help identify the intruding "stuff" and to accelerate awareness.

Very intriguing. There must be some deep relationship with the nervous system because cells just can't divide that fast, at least to my knowledge....

Just to speculate here. What if the bug has a polarity, and the other end is rooted in the mind? We would never get an accurate diagnosis since the two fields are considered separate.

how wide spread is it round the world, is it locale to certain parts of certain countrys?

is it Alien, Human, or a disease from space of a space rock?

I found this on a medical text web site. Apparently Morgellons is quite an old, albeit rare, affliction.

This paper says there is reports of it dating back 300 years. So that begs the question...are we really dealing with a nanotech project run amuck, or government contrail experiements, as the all-too-credible (sarcasm included) Rense will have you believe?

Or is this something that comes in cycles? Something natural? Perhaps being aggravated by global warming, or sprawlilng development intruding on its nests or what have you?

The apparent good news for those suffering is a course of antibiotics seems to cure Morgellons. Why this hasn't been reported yet is beyond me.....

The document starts out discussing how physicians learn in medical school something called the 'matchbox sign' of delusional parasitosis when patients bring in samples to prove what is responsible for their torment.

Many of the people with Morgellons have gone to doctors, never got examined or tested for anything, and have been dismissed as delusional.

Some doctors insist that examining patients who claim to feel itching or crawling sensations is to validate their "delusion," thus these doctors do no examination. (How convenient.)

Sir Thomas Browne described hairs found on the backs of children, and drawings by Dr. Michel Ettmuller ~ 1682 resembled microscopic views of the fibers. Because Mary Leitao, who started the Morgellons Research Foundation, believed these drawings resembled the fibers, the name Morgellons was chosen and she started the organization as more people began to show similar symptoms.

However, this does not necessarily tie the Morgellons of Sir Thomas Browne to what is called Morgellons today. Some have attempted to change the name to the Fiber Disease, or Elliott's Disease, or other names to remove this association with a disease of 300 years ago.

Since the name was chosen, much more has been found out about these fibers and the other symptoms. The more that is found, the less likely this has anything to do with the Morgellons of old, however, the name has taken hold, thus the confusion between the old and the new.

Because this is possibly a new disease or syndrome that may have connections to agricultural research gone astray, it may be convenient for debunkers and mis-information specialists to spread the word that this is an old disease.

Those who subscribe to GM Watch are likely aware that there was a behind-the-scenes public relations campaign to encourage a positive reception to genetically modified foods, seeds, etc. When GM seeds first came out, there were people who were alarmed and said so.

A whole new field opened up for public relations firms. A type of "black ops" PR came to be, where corporations no longer depended only on advertisments to get positive pubic relations but also found that message boards could be used to "tweak" opinions, to promote ideas, and to discredit.

By researching computer addresses of those who posted arguments for GM and against scientists who argued against GM, it was found that some of the message board posters were sending their communications as if they were individuals, but they were actually employed for large corporations who engaged in the business of selling GM products and doing GM research. There is a possibility that "Morgellons" or the "Fiber Disease" or even the spread of Lyme Disease is the result of scientific research gone astray (into humans and animals) and not a natural process.

If so, then it would be convenient to make it appear that this is natural, and especially that this is easy to cure. It would also be convenient to make anyone who suffers with this look crazy.

Anyone who spends time reading all there is about Morgellons - as this is known today, and not the Morgellons of 300 years ago - will know that there is much that is Un-natural about the physical symptoms and that despite many treatments tried, including antibiotics of all kinds and in many rotations, Morgellons symptoms are at best only minimized or suppressed.

The previous pages contain a wealth of information to bring someone new to this topic up to speed. Hopefully simplistic statements like "this is a 300 year old disease" or that "this is easy to cure" or that the people are "crazy" will stop and people will have something thoughtful and helpful to add.

OBJECTIVES:

1) Classify Parasite or new type Nematoid? Get Parasitologist, Bacteriologist and Nematologist involved.

2) Report to local health authorities, physicians, and CDC for warning an analysis.

3) Verify sample of clothing contains direct from the bag – parasite.

4) Locate manufacturer’s source if from clothing.

5) Stop imports of potentially life threatening and debilitating parasites.

6) Develop a cure.. which now can only be stopped with enzyme and other homeopathic products.

7) Instruct physicians on how to spot this infectious disease and not mistake it for scabies or a similar parasite. All to often this is mistaken for a psychological phenomenon. These are real insects, biting, nesting, and invading the patient’s whole body, causing intense discomfort, harm, and trauma. These insects may appear invisible, but they are not, and they are easily found if someone knows how to find them, and what they look like.

NEW Conclusions:

The nematode I believe is an enteropathogenic biocontrol species which has been genetically modified to be of very small size. The Steinernema riobravis is one genetically modified species used today in the USA for cotton. Many species are used already all over our country as well as the world. The way it works is: agriculturalists (since the late 80s) release millions of these tiny biocontrol worms into the soil of crops (in particular citrus, cotton and corn), into golf course turfs, gardens, etc., etc. to parasitize and kill off other "pest" insects.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that these nematodes would stop at insects, when warm-blooded hosts may be readily available. (There are absolutely NO controls by our government regulating either the testing, distribution or application of these creatures!)

The worms each contain a unique type of bacterium (which they themselves are immune to, and this bacteria has been genetically "enhanced" to make them more lethal) and is the deadly element released once the worm invades the larger insect host. The bacterium could explain the bizarre formation of fibers and other amorphisms in the skin of the host.

Obviously the clothing or textile (raw cotton or processed cloth) is not being sanitized and getting into garments which are distributed through our country (USA). In Columbia, they treat crops with dioxin, and some crops have been exposed to paraquat via the drug cartel wars which may have modified the organism. And many clothing manufacturers use Columbia for a source of cotton. And numerous other chemical treatments are used on crops there. Also many third world countries lack the stringent sterilizing elements found in the US methods. Enteropathogenic nematodes are used by ALL countries that produce cotton.

However the shape of this parasite appears more like the filarial Nematode species. This has to be a cross between several species… it behaves like a silk worm, and demonstrates Scabies or spider like tendencies.. and it is producing some chemical particles from my skin and hair… also there is a bacterial element and that bacterial could be genetically altered bacteria which works with the nematode, as they do have symbiotic relationships. . . I was cleaning an old shed out at a ranch I bought. My forearms began to itch terribly and while I am not a person to go to a doctor if I can avoid it, the itch was so extreme that I went to my HMO's clinic. The doctor did no physical examination - and I was embarrassed that the doctor made a point of keeping her distance from me. I was diagnosed with scabies and presribed Lindane and some pill, which I did not take after looking it up on the internet and finding that it was used for mental disease. I figured the pharmacy must have made a mistake and didn't want to make another trip to fix it.

Distinct geographic "cluster" areas of this disease have been noted near Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and San Diego, California as well as near Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Round Rock, Texas.

Physicians treating patients with this disease, believe that it involves either a novel organism, or a known organism acting in a novel way. This organism has been difficult to identify, but many physicians report that it appears to infect some individuals whose immune systems have been altered by Lyme Disease, also known as Borreliosis. The percentage of people with Morgellons Disease, who also suffer from Borreliosis, remains to be seen.

One physician who has treated a patient with symptoms of Morgellons Disease, believes that the etiologic agent of this disease is Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, a resistant bacteria which can contaminate water.

Another physician believes that Morgellons Disease has a viral etiology. It seems clear that, until public health agencies properly investigate this situation, the cause of this emerging illness will remain the subject of speculation.

Although skin symptoms are of particular interest to this foundation and are extremely troubling to patients, they are also a vital clue that something is terribly wrong with the body.

More significant than skin symptoms, in terms of the diminished quality of life of the individual with this illness, are symptoms unrelated to skin, to include Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia (ME), joint pain, and significant problems with concentration and memory.

The most significant element of this infection, appears to be the effect on brain function. Mood disorders, such as depression and Bipolar Disorder, are extremely common in this group, affecting well over half of all individuals reporting symptoms of Morgellons Disease. Nearly all people with this illness report extreme difficulty with mental concentration and short term memory.

The majority of children with this illness have ADHD, ODD, mood disorders, or autism. Among a group of 47 children with this disease, thirty of them (64%) have psychiatric illness, and five of them (10%) are autistic.

Several groups of extended families have contacted the Morgellons Foundation to report that all family members became ill with symptoms of this disease, after spending time together. One extended family of ten, from four different households, has been ill with symptoms of this disease since spending only one evening together, several months ago. All six members of another family are infected, with three psychiatrically impaired children.


3. Countries Affected.
These families do not represent isolated situations, as more and more families now report multiple infected members in a household, as well as psychiatrically impaired children.

It is unclear how this disease is being transmitted, and some workers have postulated if these situations are due to human-to-human transmission or some type of mutual exposure.
