2007 Bush / Cheney Impeachment Scenario

Topic started on 15-5-2006 @ 02:31 PM by aaaaa

Just wondering if...

Nov. 2006- Democrats regain control of the House and Senate by picking up enough seats in mid-term elections.

Jan 2007- Newly installed Judiciary Chairman John Conyers moves a bill of impeachment of the President and through commitee and the house, on a party-line vote, sends the issue to the Senate.

Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald indicts Dick Cheney for giving false testimony to a grand jury or involvement in Libby's case, forcing a resignation.

February 2007-Congress refuses to approve Bush's nomination of a replacement.

April 2007- The Senate votes on impeachment; Republicans Collins, Snow, Hegal, and Chaffee vote with the Democrats to remove Bush, providing the 60votes necessary to remove him from office.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is sworn in as President.

Possible only in theory? How violent would the civil war be afterwards?

An attempt at impeachment would only cause more divide among the people. Those in favor of impeachment should just keep their pieholes shut and in 2008 the whole Bush administration will go away God willing.

Peace
