The modern form of the devil (ie: horns and a pointy tail) is just a propaganda device for the church because it's hard to fear something that's one of the most physically beautiful of god's creations;

And what's so evil about having horns? Chameleons have horns, and they're probably one the least evil creatures of the animal world.
