This is so tragic. Over 150 people have died in Nigeria when a gas line exploded while villagers were collecting fuel. Not much details as of yet, but it's horrible news.

and in Ethiopia today, at least 3 have died in a series of explosions around the capital city.

definitely terrorism, but probably domestic committed by one of their Liberation organization and not Al-Qaeda I would think.

And now at least 38 died in Benin when they tried to steal petrol from a fuel tanker. There are also 80 injured, most of these are in serious condition.

At least 38 people were burnt to death and around 65 injured when a fuel truck in northern Benin from which they were stealing petrol burst into flames, officials and witnesses said. Many of the victims were reported to be women and children.

Eighty injured people had been hospitalised, of whom 12 had died earlier on Thursday. "Most of the survivors are in serious condition, with more than 80 percent of their flesh burnt,"

A local police officer in Porga told АFР by telephone that the fuel tanker had broken down on its way from Cotonou to the north and parked at the roadside. "Police rushed to the scene to chase away the local residents," but as soon as the police returned to their headquarters "the villagers came back under cover of night and it was in approaching the truck with a lantern that they set fire to it," he added.

Hmmm. Something is wrong here. Cnn (they're quoting Reuters) has a different story. What caused the fuel tanker to explode in Benin?

A petrol tanker exploded after running off the road in Benin, killing 35 people and injuring 80 more as they rushed to collect fuel pouring from the damaged vehicle, police and doctors said on Thursday.

The tanker was transporting gasoline to nearby Mali when it plunged into a ravine on Wednesday evening near the town of Porga on Benin's border with Burkina Faso, a local gendarme, or paramilitary policeman, told Reuters. "When it fell into the ravine, the petrol was pouring out, and people nearby ran to collect it," Lasia Mora, of the Porga gendarmerie post, told Reuters by phone. "The pouring petrol came into contact with the heat from the motor and exploded," said Mora.
