I thought the 80's version of Mighty Mouse was great. They had to cancel it. Too many jokes that had adult references that kids didn't get. I'd wake up ewvery Saturday morning around 11;30 in college to watch it. It was hilarious.

It is a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant that you know from now on ... it is all downhill. Some call it the climax. We call it JUMPING THE SHARK.

Like when the Fonz jumped a shark on water-skis. Oh, I get it.

The term "jumping the shark" comes from the series "Happy Days". In one episode, Fonzie is water skiing and a shark starts after him. Well I guess there just happen to be a ski ramp and Fonzie jumps over the shark. Everyone who watched this show (I never watched it) said that "Happy Days" went downhill after that (Fonzie jumping the shark). Hence the term "jump the shark" to indicate the point when the TV show has run its course and starts down hill. For me Bablylon 5 jumped the shark when Claudia Christian (Susan Iavonva) left.

I hated Aeon Flux. The drawings were beautiful, but the cartoon and plot sucked.

GI Joe for sure. I loved that show. I remember one Saturday it wasn't on for some reason, I cried for a half hour. Then Transformers came on, I sucked it up.

I am not sure if Conan leaving the Simpsons is a good example. It is kind of like a shows last ditch effort to seem exciting. Like bringing on a baby or new character, or moving to a new location. It is almost like the writers are saying I am running out of good ideas here, what the hell else can we do? Things start to get stupid and go downhill.

In no particular order:

Pinky and the Brain
Thundercats
Silver Hawkes
Rocky and Bullwinkle
SCOOBY DOO (especially the episodes with Scooby Dum)
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
The Merry Melodies
G.I.Joe
Jem (I'm ashamed to admit, but I dug her pink hair)
Superfriends (I used to pretend I was the Flash, and even had the Superfriends team as imaginary friends for a while)
