It has occurred to me that it would be interesting to find out what ATSers, statistically, thought on various topics, so I thought I'd post a quick questionnaire that people can copy, answer and repost. This is not really intended to provoke discussion but rather (when enough people have replied) to provide insight into how we all rate particular topics.

Obviously there are many, many subject areas that I could have come up with, but for the sake of brevity I've whittled it down to an entirely arbitrary 10 questions. My apologies, up front, to anyone who feels their particular position on any topic is not represented, but I'm really after a quick and dirty solution to statistical questions about ATSers beliefs. These questions are posed in no particular order, and have no especial importance other than that they were the first ones to pop into my head.

If we're to get anything out of this, please answer the questions either Y or N. Saying that the question is posed badly misses the point. Abstain if you want, but try and refrain from challenging the question.

Edit: PLEASE try to stick to the simple format. I'm just trying to get some numbers here and it makes it much harder to count up replies if you don't.

So the first interesting thing I'm seeing is that of our first sample, (that isn't me)

100% think that UFOs are not, in the main, ET craft BUT also
100% think that the USG has retro-engineered UFOs.

This could be the topic for another thread at some stage.

Not at face-value, no.

I don't know. But nothing rules it out as a possibility.

Yes.

If you will allow me to redefine "the Illuminati" as a handful of the richest and most powerful men/families on earth (versus some extremely organized group with some end goal), YES, to the extent of having too much influence over geopolitics, they do.

5. Did the CIA kill JFK?

I don't know. But I think it required at the least some allowance from the inside - just unsure what agency was involved.

6. Is global warming real, and caused by human-made pollution?

Global warming is real, (even it was found to be a purely natural cyclic event) and I do believe it is being affected (not necessarily caused - see previous sentence) by global industrialization.

7. Does the US government possess retro-engineered alien craft?

I don't know...but I doubt it with like most of the cells in my body.

8. Is there a conspiracy to suppress discoveries in 'free energy'?

I don't know...but I can't find many cells in my body that would be surprised if it were true.

Of course I don't know, but...I don't think so.

Well, they have before, but who knows what all they're up to right now. I don't know.

Oh Valhall, much as I love your scholarship and commitment to accuracy, this is about rough stats, not about redefining the questions. It's a first go at something, many questions will have been phrased in ways people disagree with... but that might be part of the master plan, bwahh haah haaaa. For example, I (from my Olympian height and detachment *irony*) will elect to treat your answer to my question about the Illuminati as a No. I phrased it delibearately: I'm not interested - just right now - about whether we think a loose oligarchy controls the planet, we can argue about that on other threads until the mutilated cattle return to their byres. I'm interested in finding out how many people on this forum take the Illuminati seriously, and whether there's any statistical correlation between that belief and others.

As for your other answers... they're commendably cautious. I shall be treating them as DKs. I'm only after opinions and beliefs, I'm not looking to start any debates on any one thing. It is, as they say, a matter of bums on seats, that's all.

The replies will be here on this thread for all to see, pore over, and analyse to their heart's content.

This has changed since you posted it I'm sure.

It is the first thing I noticed about some of the responses and it struck me how some respondents said NO, UFOs are not alien, but YES, the guv'mint is in possession of UFO (alien) technology. WTF?

How odd that people could hold such completely contrary viewpoints.
