Watch the trailers to this movie about how we have moved from the originally intended freedom to the Facism that's right around the corner. The film looks really good to me.

Determined to find the law that requires American citizens to pay income tax, producer Aaron Russo ... set out on a journey to find the evidence. This film which is neither left, nor right-wing is a startling examination of government. It exposes the systematic erosion of civil liberties in America since 1913 when the Federal Reserve system was fraudulently created. Through interviews with U.S. Congressmen, a former IRS Commissioner, former IRS and FBI agents and tax attorneys and authors, Russo connects the dots between money creation, federal income tax, and the national identity card which becomes law in May 2008. This ID card will use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips which are essentially homing devices used to track people. This film shows in great detail and undeniable facts that America is moving headlong into a fascist police state. Wake up!

Interesting, but I think that they are trying to tackle too many topics at once. I guess I'm just used to seeing shows that deal with topics instead of general ideas. Not that there are not an specific topics, but that there are a lot of them here.

The word "Fascio" had existed in Italian politics for some time. Mussolini was attracted to the fasces, the ancient Roman symbol of the life-and-death power of the state. When the liberal governments of Giolitti, Bonomi, and Facta failed to stop the spread of anarchy, Mussolini was invited by King Victor Emanuel III to form a new government. At the age of 39, he became the youngest Premier in the history of Italy on October 31, 1922.

I don’t understand this hang-up on taxes. The Sixteenth Amendment reads as follows: “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

Offered to the states by Congress on July 13, 1909, and declared adopted on February 25, 1913. The reference to “apportionment” and “census or enumeration” relates back to the original Constitution, Art. 1, Sec. 9, Clause 4, “No . . direct . . tax . . Shall be laid unless in proportion to the census . . “ This provision is specifically repealed. Further, in Article 1, Sec. 8, Clause 18: Congress shall have power “to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers . . “ This authorizes the Internal Revenue Act and the IRS. As for money, the same Article 1, Sec. 8, Clause 5, Congress shall have power . . “to coin money, regulate the value thereof . . “

Some people argue the power to “coin” money refers to specie, this is, coins of valuable metals like gold and silver, and not paper money. Paper money was used from the start of the War of Independence. Have you never heard, “Not worth a Continental?” This referred to the uncontrolled printing and use of paper money by the Continental Congress. Today’s money - called fiat money because it has no backing - is all issued by the Federal Reserve System. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
