If you could make an all-star band with ANY musicians in the world (dead or alive), who would you choose?

(You have to state the name, instrument and which band they're currently a member of)

My band would consist of:

  • Christian Älvestam - Vocals (Scar Symmetry)
  • Myself - Guitar (N/A)
  • Dimebag Darrell - Guitar (ex-Pantera, ex-Damage Plan) R.I.P
  • Les Claypool - Bass (Primus)
  • Tomas Haake - Drums (Meshuggah)

Christian Älvestam is one of the best metal vocalists out there, in my opinion. His vocal range is mind-blowing and I swear Tomas Haake isn't human, he plays drums like a machine!

Erm i will have to say.....

Vocals: Maynard James Keenan (TooL, APC, Puscifer)

Guitar: Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)

Bass: Jaco Pastorius (mainly Solo, but by far the worlds greatest bass player ever)

Drums: Danny Carey (TooL)

Keyboards, synth and production: Danny Lohner, aka Renholdër ( Nine Inch Nails, Tapeworm project, Killing Joke, Methods of Mayhem, Skrew, Angkor Wat, Marilyn Manson, Black Light Burns)

Yep i don't think you would get mu ch better then that lol. Yes i know these are random people and would probably sound awful together but i don't care lol.

Guitar duties: David Gilmour (Ex-Pink Floyd) and James Iha (Ex-Smashing Pumpkins)

Bass: Mike Martin (Will Haven) or Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins/Tomahawk)

Drums: Joey Jordison (Slipknot......I know, but he is the most talented member IMO, and a damn good drummer by anyones standards) or Danny Carey (Tool)

Vocals & The occasional use of Synthesizers/Keyboards: Mike Patton (Faith No More amongst countless others).

That would do for a start.....but there'd have to be another 3 or 4 bands on the same bill full of the ones who didn't make the list. Good thread

Ginger Baker - Drums (Cream)
Jimmy page - Guitar (Led Zeppelin)
Jimmy hendrix - Guitar/ Vocals -I know he's not the best singer but I like his style.
Flea - Bass - (RHCP)
Me - Production

Loads more I'd like to include, maybe some more new school members, but I think that's a fair balance.

Well I'd have...

Keith Moon: Drums (The Who drummer)
J Jonah Jameson: Bass (Without him, there would be no motown)
John Fruciante:Lead guitar/vocals (Alright, I like his screaming!)
David Bowie: Rhythm guitar/vocals (Yeah, I know, but he can pen a tune.)
Freddie Mercury
iano/main vocalist (Amazing vocalist)

And I'd call them...

The Planets of Jonah!

Triumph formed later but they over lapped going through the 70's and 80's(according to my dad who ive just woken up to ask
), are you gonna try and shoe horn Rik Emmett in to your fantasy band line up ? its hard leaving people out isn't it?

Vocals and Lead Guitar: Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)

Rhythm Guitar: Kirk Hammet (Metallica)

Bass: Les Claypool (Primus)

Drums: Danny Carey (Tool)

I dont know how well these people would work together because their styles don't really match but I'm sure Josh would find a way to make it work.
