Loonie closes above 90 cents US

The Canadian dollar closed above the 90-cent US mark on Tuesday for the first time in 28 years.

Yes Its been 28 years. I agree, some people in Toronto say Canadian Dollar will be worth more than US dollar within 2 years.

The day that happens I'd better hide from Intrepid...

I just hope this doesn't end up as one of those things where in 50 years I'll be sitting at my fireplace with the grandkids telling them "I remember when the American Dollar wielded more power than any currency in the world" and they'll think I'm telling fairy tales.

This is abit of a 180 fom a few years ago. It was pushing 60 cents at one point, or somewhere in the vicinity.

It won't take two years for the USD to be worth less than the Loonie. l year max.
The reason I say this is because many nations are bailing and calling in their markers on the US economy because of the looming inflation.

If you play the money market; I think the euro is the wave of the future.

'Tis a double edged sword. It boils down to this.

It's a good thing for our Resource sector and purchasing power abroad.

It's bad for Tourism and Manufacturing.

I would be much more comfortable with a slightly lower dollar as I don't want to have to move out to Alberta in order to reap the benefits of a higher dollar.
