fmso.leavenworth.army.mil...

This site talks about Russian "flamethrowers" which actually shoot missiles that , when hit target, make an incenidary effect. I really like the TOZ-1 Buratino.

If anybody got links to the TOZ-1 Buratino, or the Shmel, please post.

If anybody knows anything about this 2 weapons or has an opinion about how they work, how good they are, etc, tell me.

I have looked all over the net, but have found little info and pics.

These things have been about a few years, they are basically man portable fuel-air-explosives (thinking Schmel). Although I haven't read of any specific studies, it seems that they would destroy all MBTs (i.e. including Abrams) with relative ease. Armor penetration in the conventional sense being irrelevant. It is unlikely that the NBC over-pressure system (if active) would offer any protection to the crew since the change in pressure would be so much, so suddenly.

Are you talking about the Shmel?
Because when you said man portable I thought you meant the Shmel.

The US military also use similar weapons, such as the SMAW-NE used by the USMC in Iraq. It is shoulder launched just like the Schmel.

The SMAW-NE looks like this:

And does this to buildings:

Nasty stuff.
