History Channel, it's 11:00 now, Eastern time. (Virginia) "Ancient Discoveries" is the name of the show, there are back to back episodes.

Sometimes the History Channel gives you these little gems. "Antikythera mechanism" is the computer mechanism they are talking about, 87 BC.

Awesome stuff, some of the surgical tools are very similar to those used in modern times. The gear driven computer was cool, as well as an odometer for the placement milemarkers. A show on the Nemi Ships is on now. I think it may be the same one I watched a little while back. I caught the part about the heated floors in the ships, and brass water taps, like those of today. Hot and cold water was a possibility. There was also an underground conduit dug (4th century BC, I think) that was used to drain the Nemi lake, later, by Mussolini. Must have been quite an an accomplishment in those times. It was done by two teams digging toward each other and meeting. It was very precise and the two teams allmost met exactly.
