I have always loved the prescience of the 1976 movie Network. When everyone was talking about the character screaming he's mad as hell, there was a
quieter, equally important scene where the character is being explained how things really are
" There is no America; there is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations
of the world today."
When I see where companies are located, I see trade over patriotism. Also, our elective war in Iraq reminds me of the door-to-door vacuum cleaner
salesman who invites himself in, spills dirt on your floor, then uses his product to clean up the mess, making a sale. Your tax dollars going into the
coffers of companies doing business there.
Is this a global government/business conspiracy? Your thoughts?
