Tips For Proper Cleaning Of Your Colostomy Bag
When I first began emptying my bag, I would have to hold my breath because it smells so bad. I am sort of getting used to the smell now, and this has
led me to realize something that is very important. I noticed that after emptying my bag that a film of stool would still be present on the inside of
the bag, from the top to the bottom. And it occurred to me, because I am undergoing chemotherapy now, that that stool is just one big invitation for
all kinds of nasty infections and diseases. Also, I found that the stool at the very end of the bag was even getting out a little. Not much, because
we are only talking about a film here, but still. I was finding little stains of stool on my pants leg where the bag comes down and touches it.
