This makes me think...if you say the name of a woman however many times it is and she is supposed to appear in the mirror. Could I in theory say the name of some other female like oh I don't know Jennifer Aniston, would she appear?

Well she seems to have the personality of a cinder block, but I assume it isn't chitchat you're interested in...

When I was younger, there was a challenge set amongst my friends. You had to wait until you were home alone at night, go to the bathroom, close the door, turn out the light and stand facing the toilet. Next, you very slowly chant, 'Satan stroke my back', 13 times and then flush.

Obviously there was no way to verify whether or not anybody actually managed it - I tried, but couldn't go through with it! All my friends claimed they had done it, and their backs were stroked!!, obviously they were lying, but at the time, (we were all around age 11), it was scary.

This was 19 years ago, and even now I'm older, wiser, believe in very little supernatural type things, (and certainly not satan), I still think I would struggle to go through with it!!!

It's totally irrational, and I'm 100% certain nothing would happen, but I still wouldn't do it now - WHY??

That has to be my favorite tale of them all. XD Why in fact would satan stroke your back after flushing the pot anyway? As if to say thank you for your courtesy flush from the underworld or something?

It cracks me up everytime and I'm still loving it. Besides it's not like the devil's gonna drag you to the underworld with him in the first place.

Candyman Killer

Ronald Clark O'Bryan (nicknamed The Candyman) (October 19, 1944 – March 31, 1984) was a murderer from Pasadena in the U.S. state of Texas who killed his son Timothy on Halloween, 1974 with cyanide-laced candy in order to claim $20,000 in life insurance. He had also distributed poisoned candy to other children (none of whom ate it) in an attempt to cover up his crime. O'Bryan had recently taken out a $40,000 life insurance policy on his children, Timothy and Elizabeth. Elizabeth did not eat any of the tainted candy.

Just because. I don't believe in either-but I don't mess around with chanting things meant to summon horrible certain deaths, either.. hmm..

It would be interesting to know if these were actually real people once upon a time or they were just silly stories..
Because surely if these were actual people they would have certain energies attched to them, resulting in their summoning through the mirror...?? I've heard of stories where poltergeists have ripped peoples skin from the 'inside' and so on and so forth, i wonder if this would be so different if the ritual were done properly??

I've read a bit about the Bloody Mary urban legend over websites and hear that the commonly accepted version goes: you go into the bathroom (most popular setting i think), light a single candle, run the taps (something to do with the supernatural, i dunno) and say 'Bloody Mary' or 'I've got your baby, Bloody Mary' or "I killed your baby, Bloody Mary' anywhere from 3 to 13 times or something like that... and she's sup[posed to appear and scratch your eyes out or just flat out kill you..

Reminds me of The Ring a little bit...

I've never done the Candyman thing or anything like it but I'd like to cos it'd be pretty cool, except I'm too chicken... =S

I once nearly tried the Bloody Mary one, with the lights off and everything but I kept hold of the string for the light switch and couldn't even finnish the first one before I turned the lights back on. I'm such a wimp!

When my sister and I were a kid we use to do the Candyman in the mirror and usually always ran out screaming. Pretty sure its just a myth but those movies scared the living hell out of me when i was little. Didnt even like to go to the bathroom by myself after watching that.

i did candy man at the mirror 3 times, nowt happened, im a shaman which many dodgy spirits failed to harm so i felt like taking on dodgy spirits, i even looked for devils and similar to say ill take u on, try harming me, nothing occurred. i do believe in these dodgy spirits and that they are scared of some people but they are still not to be messed with if you dont have spiritual know how and strong spiritual friends.

I wondered which is scarier, the Candyman or the Hookman? After all, both used hooks.
