White farmers asked to return

It looks like the white farmers have not been asked to return after all.
A member of the Zimbabwe government says those persons who were applied for leases were doing so because the government is actually going to be shrinking the size of some of the land they already have.

There had been confusions over claims that the authorities, worried by the downturn in agricultural production, might be considering inviting back white farmers.

Several reports had said white farmers were applying for leases to rent back their land from the state.

Mutasa said white farmers still on their land were being told to apply for leases because in some cases the government wanted to cut down their farm sizes.

He said: "If the state considers that the farm is too big then it is going to be reduced... That is what is happening."

I wouldn't blame the white farmers for not wanting to return, after the way they were treated. I don't think they should. Since the Zimbabwe people wanted whitey out in the first place, why invite the "white devils" back in?

However, we really cant let all the people starve. I mean, what about the young and people who weren't even born when Mugabe went nuts?

This in my opinion would be a good time for the UN to actually show the world they can be useful for a change. Why doesn't the UN send specialists in and set up a program to teach the people how to farm their own land instead? It would allow many blacks to keep possesion of the farms, it would teach them self sufficency.

of course, before any help is extended to Zimbabwe, they need to get rid of Mugabe. Otherwise, everything will simply go back to being a total dump.

I think Mugabe has rejected UN help.
He even rejected food aid for a while, saying that they didn't need any help.

In that case then, I agree. Unless Mugabe is removed, then they have dug their own graves, let them dig themselves out or lay in them.

Now I think that I have seen it all - Mugabe is that blinded by hatred of the whites that he is prepared to start a war in another country to get food / assistance / sympathy for his fight against the whites in africa??

Apartheid was totaly wrong, yes it was and never should of been allowed, but it happened and its now gone. So get over it and rebuild a better life not kill each other!

South Africa teeters on the brink of collapse because of a poorley run goverment - the nations getting poorer by the month and faces a sooner rather than later crisis on three fronts. The Islamic seperatists, the desertion of the whites, and the criminality of the blacks that see it as an easy way out. Add Mugabes total lunacy to the pot and you really really have a need to seal the borders and get ready to defend the country and all of its people.

Oh but theres the rub isn't it? The south african goverments started this drive against white farmers as well, so maybe the conspiracy is between the two white loathing goverments to get rid of the whites once and for all?
