what we imagine members to look like b4 seeing the photo

anyone had ideals of what members look like before we saw photos of them?

and the ideal was nothing at all like the photo???

well, before I saw a photo of mechanic 32, I expected this big guy wearing overalls carrying tools... lol

and more to the point, sometimes I expect some of the members to be older than what they are..and find out they are only little...

I have been shocked a fair few times by the ages of some members.
Some younger member (like myself) have such a big nogin it is unreal... i would read their posts and think they are something like late 30's because of the extent of the post and such incredible detail...

Then i would talk to them and they would be something like 15-18!
It is crazy!

Ditto that! There seems to be many very intelligent young whippersnappers here. Makes me feel like a senior citizen!

I'm always surprised because I must subconsiously associate the person with their Avatar, especially if they have a picture of somebody on it.

I also tend to make up my mind what sex somebody is, purely by their Avatar and often get a shock when I eventually find out I was wrong !

I agree with the age thing too I usually tend to imagine members far older than what they are and agree we have some really clued-up younger members at ATS.

Yes, and I forgot to mention gender too.

I have stuck my foot in my mouth more than once regarding members gender.

There are some really aggresive young ladies out there (as far as posting style), that if you did'nt know better, you would think that they are guys. until u see their picture.

The members photo threads can be a real eye opener!
