As a Canadian, I fear for the lives of myself and my children because of the madmen which currently guide the "policy" of the United States.

First of all, I don't believe a Socialist Canadian should even attempt to criticize our government in the USA. Canada is a beautiful piece of property, but its economy is a wreck, the unemployment rate is among the highest in the world, the healthcare system sucks, the fuel prices are debilitating, and your national security is virtually nonexistent. You should fear your own government, because it's a pefect model of where socialism will take you.

You have a completely misguided interpretation of Canada. This happens to be one of the most stable political and social nations presently in the world. And thanks to the huge American appetite for non-renewable resources our economy has never been better!
Best of luck to you.

A weak economy?

IMD International: World Competitiveness Yearbook 2005, ranked 5 out of 60 economies (countries and regions)

The 1989 Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) (which included Mexico) touched off a dramatic increase in trade and economic integration with the U.S. Since 2001, Canada has successfully avoided economic recession and has maintained the best overall economic performance in the G8.

Fear the Canadian Government?

Corruption Perceptions Index 2005: 14th (out of 159); Transparency International [3] (I'm sure the U.S. government is worse.)

Unemplyment rate high?

The new congress in November will impeach this president. Mark my words.

First post, so bear with me on the possible screw-ups...

I read through these posts and read/visited the various webpages that people use to cite the crimes that Pres. Bush supposedly commited. I am a little taken aback in that the proofs cited are either factually incorrect (various cites of FISA) or someones belief/opinion that an event should be illegal (Bush harming the 1st Amendment rights of protestors) or amazingly, a simple allegation of a wrongdoing (he 'may' have...) vice a concrete bit of evidence (like the rehashing of the unproven Ohio vote fraud yet again).

Now I am just going by the websites linked. I can of course do an internet-wide search with 'Bush impeachment' for the search keywords, but something tells me I wouldn't get much more that is intellectually stimulating, just more simple hate-Bush screeds.

Anything concrete out there? Anything undeniable? Something tells me that if there was, it would be on the front pages daily. All of the supposed 'proof' has evaporated upon the harsh gaze of scrutiny.

If the partisan members of the Democrat party wish to make a go of it, then so be it, go ahead. Considering the continual (and unabashed) denial of concrete evidence of crimes commited by President Clinton by these individuals, evidence acted upon by a Federal judge, I can see why the same group is more than willing to essentially fabricate evidence to make a case to exact a little revenge.

Last little point, which I found amusing in one of the above posts that I think is so true. The current administration has been reviled for being headed by the most dimwitted, intellectually lazy President, while conversely he heads the most efficiently evil power-grabbing group of individuals in history. Which is it again, or should I flip a coin?

our nation is one of the most "stable" because its holding onto its monopoly on oil. Canda isn't a model system but guess what, they also haven't started 3 wars in the past 15 years alone, and on there way to a possible fourth. US is an economic power because it does so by force and violence, not because its such a great system.

US unemployment, as of April 7th 2006, is 4.7%.

Canada's is, as of April 7th 2006, is 6.3%, a 32 year low.

And 'spacious' is ambiguous, to say the least.
A "high" unemployment would be the current unemployment rates of France or Germany, etc, with double digits.
So, yes, despite the corrections I have provided, and being that the provided 6.3% is a 32 year low, "high," in respect to Canada's unemployment rate, is somewhat relative but may have merit.

The real reason to impeach bush is failure to enforce the border, failure to force Iran to give up plans for nukes.

Yes, thx for the correction Seekerof. Both dropped around .5 of a unit; also one has to take into account the "rurality" (not a word, but I'm going to make it one on this post) of a significant part of Canada.

Yes, it's very nice to thumb through a volume of statistics and point to this and that indicator, without ever actually visiting the locale in question. Terribly convenient.

Unfortunately, the numbers you cite are not reflected in the Canada that I visit on occasion. Frankly, I think someone is cooking the statistics, or you are misinterpreting them.

In no way do we impeach Bush! Before you rip into me, let me explain. Do I believe Bush and company have done acts that are impeachable? IMO, almost certainly. So why do I oppose impeachment? After watching Bush the past six years I've come to realize we have a President that has a fragile grip on reality. There have been times that he has appeared lucid, in control and truly likeable. There has been times he seemed to be detached, aloof and frankly, just not all there. One particular time, I remember at a nighttime press conference he came across as being under the influence of something(drugs or alcohol).

Bush is the type of person I act very carefully around. Simply put, I don't trust them because you just don't know what is going to set them off. Bush will take impeachment not as a attack on his policies and decisions, but as an attack on his character and to an extent his existence as a person. Maybe someone with more mental health training can expand on my thought.

The damage done by Bush and Co. up till now although significant, is repairable. By impeaching Bush, we run the risk of starting a chain of events that I see easily concluding with the fall of the American Republic.

There's quite a few people on here saying that we don't have enough evidence to impeach bush at this moment. I beg to differ. Since when is a president allowed to spy illegally on his own people behind our own backs and completely disregard the constitution (which is the SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND or was I not taught right in Government class.) We have all the evidence in the world to convict him of it. The only reason I think congress is waiting is so democrats regain some (if not the majority) control because I highly doubt many republicans would turn their back on the "leader" of their party.

The original poster is right in saying this is a serious issue which deserves serious discussion. It's also a serious crime which deserves serious punishment. This goes beyond political points of view. This issue extends all the way into your homes, invading your privacy, and taking away your rights. This is the land of the FREE!! Lets not forget who we are and what we stand for. I'm going to close this with a quote from our dear friend, Benjamin Franklin.

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. "

I live most of my life in Russia, so I am not supposed to care but for some reason I do: IMPEACH BUSH!!

As for Dick Cheney, if he is elected when Bush gets impeached I will be afraid to go outside of my home from fear of being shot with a hunting shotgun.

So what does that mean? IMPEACH THEM BOTH!!!

PS: I have relatives that will always live here and I want them to have a good president. Besides I feel sorry for Americans, they shouldn't put up with Cheney or (especialy) Bush.

I say yes, impeach Mr. Bush. He has single-handedly violated our First and Fourth Amendment rights. He has also violated (repeatedly, through his cronies) the Voting Rights Act of 1965 with his "funny business" in the Florida and Ohio voting precincts. And he has also violated the Geneva Convention with his treatment of foreign prisoners in Guatanamo (not to mention the domestic prisoners). He has spied on us. He has lied to us. And, after reading Dr. Frank's book, Bush on the Couch, he displays a lack of empathy, sociopathology as well as "dry drunkness".

I'm sorry to be so blunt. But, we need a new change in our country. And we need to get that change before we get into a ruinous war with Iran--just to save the November 2006 elections.

Why try to impeach? Why not try to recall the President. Sure, it's never been done at that level before, but technically there is nothing to stop it.

And think of how many Congressmen would get scared when they see Americans understand the power of recall. We can go after them next.

To think that he would even consider a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Iran is scary indeed. The results of such an action would be to turn the entire Muslim world against us, if not the entire world. That would be just the thing to turn peace loving Muslims everywhere against us. With Gijad like that, no American would be safe anywhere in the world, not even here at home.

Another factor....

Between May 12 & Early June, there are comet fragments that could pass close enough to earth to create meteor showers. What if one of those fragments was large enough to penetrate the Earths' atmosphere and explode near the surface of the Earth. Such a thing would resemble a nuclear bomb but without the longterm radiation (radiation from such an explosion would be gone within minutes).

A politician could blame such an explosion on terrorists and in the heat of the moment could do nearly anything without the dissent of the population.

Don't be afraid, Arthur Dent!

while we're in such an impeaching move can we do something with the congress also??

Senate Bill Shorts Gear for Troops

abcnews.go.com...

all I can say is I can't wait for my son to get out of service. hopefully it will be before they esculate this mess to the point where it's more than just pirates and haitians taking pop shots at the ships. let them tell their own kids and grandkids how sorry they are, but planes and unsafe helicoptors that are to be delivered years from now are more important than the equipment they needed months ago!!

EVERYONE needs to go. And Faux news needs to be shut down. Hannity should get a life, Limbaugh should leave the country and get therapy.
Only then, will we recover, maybe.

AND it needs have a Shaman come to the White House and perform certain evil-ridding rituals as well...

Qwas I think has hit on it. Recall. Even if it doesn't succeed it would send an unmistakable message to the critters infesting DC. That is something to consider.
