Blackbird Losses

This is a nice page you might want to look if you're interested in Blackbirds.

Throughout the 25+ years that the Blackbird served the free world, 20 of these aircraft were lost due to accidents. In military jargon this is called "Written Off". The following web pages describes the events and suspected causes of the loss and includes as much data as is currently available about each crash.

One thing you'll notice is that there is only one loss after 1972. I think by then they really worked out all the problems. Plus, you'll also notice that there were very few fatalities.

Wrong, the F/A-18 is the best looking plane...

Nice site... I agree... it took them a while, but after working out all problems, it become a really nice plane...

well they never did stop it from leaking fuel when it was sitting in the hanger

although you can actually put out a fire with thefuel it uses
