My favorite smell? Well, I have a few of them;

COFFEE; freshly ground and freshly brewed (two great and distinctly different aromas (I love them both)

GASOLINE: I referring to the way gasoline smelled before the 70's. The smell
changed dramatically after they started adding something to the
gasoline to reduce emissions.

SCHOOL HAND-OUTS PRINTED ON A MIMEOGRAPH MACHINGE (Wow, I'm dating myself here. How many on ATS even know what a mimeo or, as it was also called, a Gestetner machine?

WATERMELON; Like a freshly mowed lawn, the smell of watermelon is the smell of Summer!

LILIES OF THE VALLEY; Have you ever wandered in the woods and come across a large patch of Lilies of the Valley? Well, if you ever had, you would also pick this as a favorite smell.

PIZZA Who doesn't like the smell of pizza?

GUNPOWDER.....I love the smell of clouds of gunpowder .....whether it's from firecrackers or muzzle-loaders, it's a haunting smell.

BAKED APPLES with CINNAMON; mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Know what? I can't specifically name it, but when I smell a woman that has the particular scent, I am instantly reminded of 'first love'.

I know the smell, but can't name it.

Baby smell (not that baby smell). You parents know what I mean.

There is nothing like sitting on the floor playing with your kid after they have a bath and are all clean and fresh. It’s the smell of childhood, innocence.

Nothing good can come from this thread! I'm just waiting for someone to mention other people's undergarments.

EDIT: Should I add a 'giggity, giggity' to that?

I'm something of a bloodhound myself, so my fav smells in no particular order:

1.Cold morning air, the kind when you wake really early with mist still in the air or its just stopped snowing.
2.Gasoline, any kind.
3.Fresh rain, the smell when you wet dry mud.
4.Cigarettes , not smoked but lit.
5.Bar room smell, when its filled with smoke and alcohol vapours!
6.New electronics smell.
7.smell of blood
8.smell of freshly baked bread
9.perfume when its waning.
10,smell of a good BBQ!

I cant think of anymore right now......

Pay attention my padawan learners...There is a 50-50 split in the female population who have been statistically tested and proven to either fervently love Old Spice or to absolutely despise it....There are no middle grounds....

The decision to actually wear this stuff some call "cologne" I leave entirely in your hands

For me….Hmmmm

The fumes that rise out of the dishwasher while it’s running a load! Mmmmmm…

Freshly laundered clothes….

Crumpled lemon leaves….

Fresh cypress mulch….

Burning leaves…

And yes – I think I know and agree with what was meant by “the scent of a woman,” but I think that’s about as far as we should take that topic here

Some people like that freshly gut grass smell…UGH! Sorry…Not for me – All it does down here in the South is stir up all the pollen and makes me sneeze!
