Umm, Iran and Syria have longed used Lebanon as a proxy to stage and fight against Israel for decades.

And Isreal and United States are just "Defending Themselves" with numerous Covert Interventions in Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq and other countries in the Middle East for Decades right?

Naaah!

It's just Anti-War-Liberal-Socialistic-Propaganda.

TEN THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT U.S. POLICY IN THE MIDDLE EAST

The Middle East is the destination of the majority of American arms exports, creating enormous profits for weapons manufacturers and contributing greatly to the militarization of this already overly-militarized region. Despite promises of restraint, US arms transfers to the region have topped $60 billion since the Gulf War. Arms sales are an important component of building political alliances between the US and Middle Eastern countries, particularly with the military leadership of recipient countries. There is a strategic benefit for the US in having US-manufactured systems on the ground in the event of a direct US military intervention. Arms sales are also a means of supporting military industries faced with declining demand in Western countries.

This is one thing I have always said. Especially in regards to Israeli/Palestinian relations. There are more people who stand to lose if there is a peace brokered between the 2 peoples. UZI alone would probably stand to lose a great deal of money on weapons sales since people would no longer need to have self-defense weapons since the Uzi is weapon of choice over there. On the Palestinian side the people smuggling in small arms, rpg's, rocket launchers, and explosives...all stand to lose a great deal of money. These are the people we should look to when something goes wrong or an attack occurs. It would be so easy to incite fighting over there on either side its pitiful.
As far as Iran and Syria go right now, I would bet Russia and China are having a clearance sale and making a bundle on getting rid of their overstocked items! This all should be so transparent to people. Its all about business.

so russia might not get angry if we strike iran seeing that it stands to bolster their arms sales...as long as we dont interfere with irans ability to deliver russia it's badly needed oil & natural gas....

Man - Imagine (like John Lennon) that tomorrow there is suddenly no More Wars. Well that would bring economies of world superpowers to their Knees! That is ofcourse totally unacceptable. The only way to conduct business is to create and promote more wars. Simple economy rule: if you want to sell the product, you need CUSTOMERS.

Its all about business.

A yeah. Could not agree with You more.

My Wish List

Bomb Shelter in the Mountains
Fresh Underground Water Supply
5/8 Years worth of Food and Supplies
Weapons
All the needed equipment to build a new community when the wars are over
Crops and Livestock for when its over
Hot young French Model with which to repopulate my village/community.

The same for all my friends and family...

As it is, I live in a coastal city, and my only supplies are some matches, a pocket knife, some musical instruments and a sports car....

If I was older, and had money, I would be getting ready, but I am only 21, and music teaching/playing isn't exactly the highest paying vocation.

When the ship goes down, at least I have a plan as to what I will do, and a few friends who I plan to take with me, which is better than most people I suppose.

Plus we're young and healthy which gives us a good advantage, it sounds cruel but I don't think I'll be able to save any of the older people in my life....I'll be having a hard enough time saving myself and my friends, but thats something I guess I'll just have to weigh on my conscience when the time comes...

How did we let it get to this?

Supposing the New World Order doesn't take over, I think at least we can try to build a better world after the next war. It's kinda sad to be so young, and have no hope of a future that doesn't involve war.

Or, how one man screwed up so much in so little time. And, he has over 2 years to go, until January 20, 2009. Sweet Jesus. Bless us, for we have sinned.

Geo W has forfeited our grand-children's future to support what he likes to call a “booming economy.” In reality, Geo W is giving us a single economy dividing into TWO economies. The upper 10% or 15% of the population - 30 to 45 million - and the lower 85% or 90% of the population - 255 to 270 million. As in China where the division is 300 million “yes” and 1,000 million “no.” China’s divide is also described as “coastal” and “inland.” The future bodes ill for both.

Geo W has blown the lid off the Middle East. Who in the @!*%@ ever thought voting was equal to democracy? A high school drop-out knows better than that. But not Geo W and VP Cheney and the Oberfuhrer.

Nuclear war? Sweet Jesus. Save us from ourselves! We have not talked about ‘nuking’ anyone since the 1962 Cuba missile thing. But now it’s a hot topic! Thank You Geo W. You could have the distinction of being America's first designated president and if you get your way, you may well be America’s LAST president. I hate you for this. If I ever vote Republcan again, I hope Jesus cuts off my hand!
