Provenanzo, was Italys most wanted man and had been on the run for forty years. He was arrested near Corleone, in Scilliy, the home of the fictional
character from the film, 'The Godfather'. He managed to evade capture for so long through fear and being a master of disguise.
The man considered to be the head of the Sicilian Mafia, Bernardo Provenzano, has been arrested after more than four decades on the run.
Police said Mr Provenzano, deemed the country's most wanted man, was arrested in Sicily.
He is wanted on multiple charges of murder and armed robbery.

Having been on the run for 40 years Mr Provenanzo, now 73, is seen to be head of the Scillian Mafia, the original crime organisation. Police produced
a photo fit, based on a photograph of him at age 25. How ironic that he was caught in Corleone, home of the fictional Don Corlenone. Italian Police
say that it has been difficult to capture him as people are still deeply afraid of the mafia, he would never use a telephone and he is a master of
disguise; almost a 'scarlet pimpernel' figure.
I am sure it is conincidence that this arrest occured whilst wrangling over the Italian election is going on, particularly with talk of a re-run. Well
done Mr Berlesconi.
