Here is a thought: what if more US companies promoted their engineers to higher positions? How would this affect the economy?
I'd like to think that having a greater percent of engineers with a greater percent of what get said in terms of how money is distributed and
invested could very well be the change that is needed in this post-cold war era. I do not think as much money now, at the current rate, would be
invested by companies in the area of tort litigation, and I believe that a higher standard of research and development can be established if this were
to happen.
I think the old mold of the US being an economy relying upon its military could very well dwindle if such an oppurtunity were seized by US companies.
