I think what's interesting is this line:
"On Thursday afternoon, officials from the FAA were at the home investigating the incident in hopes of determining the origin of the ice."
Seems like you hear about the FAA always checking it out.
Do we ever hear them report back? Or does the story often fade?

I'm wondering - and I know very little about the atmosphere - where the water would come from. Chunks of ice in meteors seem likely; and didn't we
have a huge solar flare the other day? I wondered then if something had impacted the Sun to cause that...now I'm wondering if debris from that
(projected) impact could be hitting us.
Hrm.
This world is indeed a fascinating and incredible place.

One local family is safe tonight and counting its blessings after a chunk of ice fell from the sky and into their Encanto home.
The chunk crashed through Bounmy Ksamyongsa's home in the 300 block of Henson Street. He says what crashed through his roof Monday, with so much
force it ripped apart plywood, insulation and sheet rock, was one huge chunk of ice.
"It happened like a bomb, or something like that, really loud," he said.

www.phillyburbs.com...
Bam!
Another ice chunk fell from an airplane and smashed through the roof of a local home early Friday morning, landing between the married couple who
lives there, according to police and family members.
Northampton Township police said the ice chunk smashed through the roof and a second-floor room before landing in the family’s foyer in the Holland
section of the township around 1 a.m.
The police department was investigating what took place on the first block of Trailwood Drive and will consult with the FAA to figure out if a
plane’s evening route matches the location of the incident.

No one was injured, but there was substantial damage to the home, which is evident by the gaping hole in the roof.
There were minor electrical problems because the ice chunk smashed into a chandelier, the family said.
