What are your five favourite films?

I'll start off:

  • Batman
  • Batman Returns
  • Batman Begins
  • Identity
  • Revolver

It's a close call between Revolver, Pulp Fiction and Scar Face, though. Revolver just clinched the win.

Why didn't you ask a harder question?

1- Jesus Christ Superstar(easy)
2- Blazing Saddles(funniest movie of all time)
3- Paint your Wagon(don't ask)
4- Jaws(just a damn good movie)
5- Snatch(if you haven't seen it, do so) No, it's not a porn.

So many more.

Not sure if this was sarcasm.. Anyway, I was thinking of making an "All-time favourite film" thread, but I couldn't narrow my favourites down to just one. Hell, I even had rouble narrowing it down to just five!

Exactly, I had to cull a bunch of excellent films out, including The Godfather.

Ahh, yeah. A true classic. Quite short though, I thought.

1 - The Lion in Winter
2 - Seven Samuri
3 - The Snake Pit
4 - Finding Nemo
5 - The Princess Bride

D'oh, forgot The Princess Bride. Always get choked up at the end of the movie when grandpa says, "As you wish." True love.

2001 - A Space Odyssey

Godfather (1 & 2 - c'mon, they're almost like one)

The Exorcist.

Alien

Spongebob movie (KIDDING!!!)

I'll throw in Platoon for the 5th

This list is subject to change as I succumb to consciousness. Debated on the original War of the Worlds for a "classic" effect.

Anyhow, doesn't matter how many times these damn things can be on TV, if I flip on by them (even though I have the DVDs) they'll stay on.

Damn, forgot about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

aaaaahhhhh ! ! ! !

I'm thinking too hard too early.

edit - to reflect 2001's proper name, was just 2001

Well, I won't ruin the plot for everybody... The film is a Psychological film... an 'intelligent film for intelligent people', as my Mum wonderfully put it.

Watch it twice in a row, and you'll get the drift of the film. I love psychological films.

mine as follows:

1: John Carpenter's Ghosts Of Mars - so its a gore fest..... its Carpenter man! You want soft, look for James Cameron
(only playing Jim, don't send Schwarzenegger to my house)

2: Event Horizon - Best sci fi-horror ever... Sam Neill is outstanding. When I first saw this, I couldn't get the globe with the rings out of my mind's eye.

3: Pitch Black - Vin Diesel will never do a better flick in my opinion... very cleverly shot film, very cleverly created character in Riddick.

4: Blade - the first of the trilogy is dark, moody, and atmospheric due to subtle sound tech, but then the movie gets explosive when it needs to be. In my humble opinion, the two sequels never got close to the original.

5: Scarface - if you haven't seen Brian De Palma's classic Scarface, then you must. Now. No serious, get up from your computer, find a copy, and watch it. Yes, now. Al Pacino's best movie ever. Only Heat comes close.
