Bigotry in your belief system?

I am always amazed at the number of people who are ready to attack so viciously David Icke and the people who profess a belief in shapeshifting lizard aliens, yet who will in turn express a strong, unshakeable belief in a 'Holy Ghost' for whom no physical evidence has ever been produced.

Do such people not realise that, to agnostics and atheists alike, their belief system is no more valid than anybody else's?

I am expressing no belief either way, just hoping to start a mature debate.

I do my best to abstain from all spiritual bigotry...

I do harp on 'blindness' and 'egoism' and even a 'limited mortal perspective,' but I see those as 'phases' rather than 'immutable character traits.'

I figure, names and flavors aside, we all came from the same place *wherever* and we are all headed down personal variations of the same road, inevitably aimed toward the same destination *whatever*.
