how many planes are those new carriers supposed to carry? I seem to remember it being more than the "Invincable" class.

Why does the Vanguard class subs have "shoulders" bow like planes? The Trafalgar class didn't have those. What significance of this design? More steamlined?

Yeah that's a really neat shot. It stood out to me too. I also liked the Eurofighter pic as well. I wish Canada could afford some of those to replace our old CF-18's. Being a former British colony, do you think we could get a discount?

They have shoulders as part of the 'whale' shape (US subs are basically cylindical, the front end of ours is based on the shape of a whale) design as it provides extra space for the hydroplane mechanisms outside of the pressure hull. You will see that the asture class also has similar shoulders. I always thought it makes them look meaner.

NOTE: spare a thought for the cameraman in that photo, the ship (i seem to remember is is HMS Vengence) is coming right at him, not a place you want to be in a small dingy.

Isnt the British Army supposed to be buying a new off roader? It is similar to the US Hummer but it is built by Alvis and possibly armoured
