Unfortunately,

It will be that one time when the authorities DONT look into a 'ridiculous' tip, and then another attack will occur.

If 9/11 was indeed an inside job, then that's pretty moot. Think about it. If one's government is the one doing the terror stunts, why worry about what Joe Sixpack is doing?

It may have been a mistake yeah but a blummin' relevant one tho'! I mean two seperate Clash events with the terrorist suspect implications... pretty funky and scary to boot.

This story scares me more than almost anything I've read in months.

I don't know about you, but I realised the other day that I self edit. What I say, what I post - heck, sometimes I have a moment's thought when I'm surfing the web as well.

I'm far from paranoid, but now I'll have to wonder any time I'm listening to music, can someone hear what I'm listening to? And will they think it's alarming for some reason?

I can think of a dozen bands I listen to right now with lyrics equally as subversive as The Clash.

What's really sad to me is that they will drag some guy downtown for interrogation over some music he was listening to, round people up for wearing the wrong tee shirts at political rallies, but then they turn around and let five dancing Israelis with box cutters and large amounts of cash high fiving each other across from the WTC complex walk right of the country, indeed, pay for their flights out of town.
I wonder if listening to Alan Parsons is suspect as well...

He sure looks subversive.

Nygdan I heard about Bad Religon from searching on the internet, I would google conspiracy related search terms and their names kept cropping up, it seems most of the things I was researching was somewhere in their song lyrics. I'm a Fleetwood Mac/Steve Miller kind of guy so I'm not into Punk music and the like so is the music any good?
Glad to see somebody else has heard of them though.

Rather, amazing to see that not everybody has. They're played in fairly regular rotation on all the corporate rock radio stations here. They've been around a long time.

i think it was mainly because of his race, and i read about that in the ny post today in the weird but true column, but this had more detail in the story, than the paper

Idiots Have Taken Over

it's not the right time to be sober
now the idiots have taken over
spreading like a social cancer, is there an answer?

Mensa membership exceeding
tell me why and how are all the stupid people breeding
Watson, it's really elementary
the industrial revolution
has flipped the bitch on evolution
the benevolent and wise are being cornered, ostracized, what a bummer
the world keeps getting dumber
insensitivity is standard and faith is being fancied over reason

darwin's rollin over in his coffin
the fittest are surviving much less often
now everything seems to be reversing, and it's worsening
someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool
now angry mob mentality's no longer the exception, it's the rule
and im startin to feel a lot like charlton heston
stranded on a primate planet
apes and orangutans that ran it to the ground
with generals and the armies that obeyed them
followers following fables
philosophies that enable them to rule without regard

there's no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated
political scientists think the same one vote as some arkansas inbred
majority rule, don't work in mental institutions
sometimes the smallest softest voice carries the grand biggest solutions

what are we left with?
a nation of god-fearing pregnant nationalists
who feel it's their duty to populate the homeland
pass on traditions
how to get ahead religions
And prosperity be a symbol to culture

the idiots are takin over

Indeed - No Good Time To Be Sober!

This is a funny story.
Apparently, we Americans are not the only people who paranoid about terrorists. The guy was pretty stupid in a way though, to make the cab driver listen to his music. What happened to the time when you just sit back and let the man drive you to the airport? By broadcasting his music the cab driver must have assumed that the guy was trying to tell him something! Not everybody knows what The Clash is about and I dont think the cab driver knew what this music is about.

In anycase, this was just a case of- better safe than sorry. I mean imagine if this guy was brown skinned, bearded playing Quranic verses in his mp3 player ? They would have sent in an STF squad into the plane to take him out !!

Also if somehappens to be listening to Rammstein and the authorities ask you what you are listening to it would be wise not to say "Mein Teil"
