POLITICS: DHS Dep. Press Sec. Arrested on Child Porn Charges

This story is breaking now and it looks like a deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security has been arrested on child porn charges in Florida involving internet solicitation and sexually explicit conversation with what he thought was a 14 year old girl. He was actually in contact with a computer crimes detective.



As if DHS doesn't have enough problems, now this. No wonder nobody wants to be FEMA director.

This man should be completely ashamed of himself. Here he is in a position of authority, representing the government of the US, and he is carrying on with activities like this.

I'm glad he was caught. I hope this sends a message to all the other sickos in positions of power who think they are above the law.

Although its a rather weak case when the only recorded evidence is of this conversation with an undercover agent, this does open up doors for search warrants and such to investigate this mans past internet and other activities in this field.

Lets hope they find enough evidence to put him behind bars for a long time.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think I've found the thought process running the federal goverment. It's a variation of the "Dilbert Principal" which states the the most incompetant employees are systematically moved up to management where they can do the least damage. I've determined that the federal goverment must do the same thing, only instead they move the incompetant one's to the DHS.

I have often thought of your assertions of governmental involvement in child sex rings a bit too speculative for my tastes, but I have to admit, I am beginning to think less so now...

it was never aired in the usa - advertised to be aired but got blocked then ordered never to be shown

in fact it was only ever shown once in the uk before being pulled.

I don't know all the details of this story, but has anyone thought of the possibility that someone may have wanted him out of his position? Has he entered a plea? Why was HE being wathced?

Child porn is bad, yes. In fact my heart hurts bad for the kids put in this situation. However, going after the viewers is sort of futile - go after the pimps. Save the children.

Remember, innocent until proven guilty. Although sometimes guilty is still innocent.

The same thing has crossed my mind.

It could be he was being watched for something else.....monitored by Big Brother and they hit pay dirt.

We may never know. (He may have known something)

The reason why he doesn't want to be extradited out to Florida is because if he is tried in Florida he will be given a harsher punishment.

Beside that, I do have to agree with one thing at least this is one less creep that we have to worry about.

He did wrong, but HE WAS SET UP.

I just read about this today in my local paper.

I've found two stories online regarding this, doing just a cursory search.

From the cnn.com story:

Brian J. Doyle, 55, is charged with seven counts of use of a computer to seduce a child and 16 counts of transmission of harmful material to a minor, according to the Polk County, Florida, Sheriff's Office.

He is currently being held without bail in a Montgomery County, MD jail.

When officers showed up at his home on April 4 to arrest him, they found an AOL Instant Messenger conversation window open with the "girl." He has also confessed the crime to police, in order to avoid extradition to Florida (which is where the sting operation was based). There appears to be more than enough evidence now to put him away for a very long time.

It's also interesting to note that Doyle's Silver Spring, MD home backs up to an elementary school, and is located in a neighborhood with lots of children. His neighbors are very shocked to hear about this.

I also read somewhere that, if convicted on all counts, he faces up to 115 years in prison. (EDIT: I read this in the 4/6/2006 print version of The Examiner, and haven't been able to find a link online)

"CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE" is what I'd hoped to find 'broken', on the worlds busiest Conspiracy Site.

I had no idea that loving or hating Bush was so much more important than gaoling Child Sex Slave Traders.

Maybe folk would find it easier to believe the Government 'blew up' their own citizens on 9/11, if they realized how much of the Child Sex Industry is run and 'enjoyed' by those at 'the top' of society.

Just one paedophile, can destroy as many children as died (and had their suffering ended) on 9/11.

Now I'll just sit back and wait for all the, "They didn't air it because they couldn't 'prove' it." crowd to tell you not to listen to the 'unproven' claims of survivers.

Something about this 'sting' didn't sit right with me from the very beginning.

Yeah, he took the bait, but it almost sounds like entrapment. No excuses for the guy, just wondering what's behind them taking down one of their own.

Maybe he wasn't satisfied with the opportunities he was being offered to satisfy his sick urges within the system described so accurately by suzy ryan. Maybe he was starting to cast about on his own, freelancing, so to speak.

That would be a threat to said system and might generate a pre-emptive strike to take him out of circulation, and serve as a warning to all the other sickos to keep it holstered and wait their turn at said system's sanctioned den of depravity. I am grossing myself out now.

This whole subject gives me the CREEPS!

what if his defence is that he was investigating entrapement within the internet??
