Do you think a man could ask for maternity leave ?

In Canada, men are entitled to take parental leave and collect Employment Insurance while doing so. I have worked with men who have taken advantage of this.

Parental leave is designed to provide either or both parents with time to spend with their newborns. For the mother, parental leave provisions commonly stipulate that the leave be taken immediately after maternity leave, thereby extending the total leave period. For the father, parental leave provisions allow time off to help with the care of the newborn; sometimes collective agreement language that is gender-specific to the father is referred to as paternity leave.

Kicking him in the gonads never even occured to me. I reserve that kind of action for an actual assault.

If you want get paid like a man you have to start acting like a man and taking the responsibilites of a man, stay the long hours in meetings, play the politics, etc the whole nine yards. To claim that women are always subjugared for being women is absurd. There are many women who are able to meet a companies demands and have risen up the corporate ladder to postions of power(Ex: Hewlett Packard former chief Carly Fiorina).

Guess what, I agree with the first sentence in the quote.

That's why I don't like these stupid whiny girls any more than you guys do. Having to overcome the damage these stupid girls do to women who want to be taken seriously in business is a lot of extra effort that could be better spent elsewhere. I stay for meetings, work unpaid overtime and take calls on the weekend. As for office politics, I am the one in the office you don't want to mess with, I will crush you. I work just as hard as any man there.

That is why when I see a blanket statement that all women have it easier, I don't think it is true. If the sentence had been 'A small percentage of attractive women have it easier because they exploit a man's preconditioned reaction to a hottie' then I would be arguing the yes side.
