New theory based on science suggests Jesus may not have ever walked on water, it was ice. (assuming you believe Jesus existed of course)

Apparently conditions were just right during Jesuses lifetime to cause certain bodies of waters in his area to develop floating ice that would have been very difficult to spot from shore. These conditions may have created ice 2-3 times during Jesus's lifetime.

The source states that today it would be an unlikely event, maybe once in 10,000 years, but back then every 30-60 years was possible.

The study, which examines a combination of favorable water and environmental conditions, proposes that Jesus could have walked on an isolated patch of floating ice on what is now known as Lake Kinneret in northern Israel.

Looking at temperature records of the Mediterranean Sea surface and using analytical ice and statistical models, scientists considered a small section of the cold freshwater surface of the lake. The area studied, about 10,000 square feet, was near salty springs that empty into it.

The results suggest temperatures dropped to 25 degrees Fahrenheit (-4 degrees Celsius) during one of the two cold periods 2,500 –1,500 years ago for up to two days, the same decades during which Jesus lived.

The author is not suggesting this as fact, but certainly something that was entirely possible.

Nope. There were waves and a storm. Nope there wasn't ice, and he don't need ice to walk where ever he wants to - The Lord Jesus walks on water when he wants, where he wants, however he wants.

To say he needed ice....well thats a very novel thought but not for Jesus -he walks on water.

An interesting theory, but I'll have to agree with MadGreebo. Unless the ice was very flexible and bent with the waves in the storm, I have some doubts about Jesus walking on ice.
