Killer Bees Spreading North Due To Mild Winters

Topic started on 3-4-2006 @ 03:24 PM by amisn1957

Since I live in Southeast Kansas this article appeared in all the local newpapers over the weekend.

www.kansascity.com...

Seems as though due to the mild winters we are experiencing, Killer Bees are extending their range further north and are expected to arrive here this year.

Another indication the local wildlife here are reacting to climate warming is the appearance of armadillos. Ten years ago you had to travel about 200 miles to the south to see armadillos, now they are quite common here, and my dogs even chase them from my yard on a regualr basis, and I live in a town not in the country.

This is very good proof of a rapid climate change, and how it is upsetting ecosystems on a large scale.

I knew they would get here sooner or later...the matter was just when.
