A very interesting article in Times.

www.time.com...

I have always had very mixed feeling about Mr. Gorbachev. Time a time he proved to be a very mysteries person. Compared to Clinton, Gorbachev is the real "slick willy". After the "collapse" of the USSR, he quietly moved to California with his family and received US government pension for life, etc.

Amazing, I can only image how he would think of let's say Nixon, if after the Vietnam fiasco he moved to Vietnam and lived on gov. pension. Just does not makes sense, yet again one can hardly disagree with his answers in the Times.

What an unbelievably mysterious character.

him moving to the US was essentially asylum from Yeltsin... he can't be criticised for that...

he did try his best for what was in the end a noble goal (to try to return the Soviet Union to ACTUAL democratic socialism - arguabley a state that never actually existed during the revolution anyway...)

poor gorby
