There are news reports of a man who walked into a Tim Hortons with explosives strapped to himself and detonated them in the washroom.Reports are early,But this could be a suicide bomb attempt.Has the war on terror finally come home to Canada????

I sure hope not. It doesn't seem like a suicide bombing, in that he went to the bathroom to do it.

If you have explosives strapped to yourself with the intetention of killing your self and others, then it is a suicide bombing. It matters not that you do it alone. The result is always a suicide bombing.

The fact that it went off in the bathroom ,says that it may have been faulty, or it went of at the wrong time. This has got be good ,because no one else got hurt or killed.

Maybe the guy stopped in the bathroom to arm the device and inadvertantly detonated it.

Sounds like Canada possibly dodged a bullet, though I hope the investigation turns up something less sinister.

It wasn't an explosive device but a gas can which he ignited killing himself. The fumes from the can caused the explosion. What it interesting is that the Bomb squad was at two different locations, and detonated a suspicious package at one.Did they know or were they in possesion of knowledge of something happening???

Police have ruled out terrorism as the cause of an explosion at a Tim Hortons doughnut shop that killed one man in a trendy downtown area of Toronto on Sunday.

Since that has been established, this thread will be moved from War on Terrorism to Other Current Events.

Thank you.

Your source states it wasn't a terrorist attack - perhaps you misread it?

According to reports by police and fire officials, “It doesn't appear that there was much of a fire at all. There was a very small amount of smoke upon our arrival." The washroom of the ceiling suffered explosive damage, and wires and batteries through to have been part of some type of bomb were, according to police, “part of an air freshening device inside of the washroom.”

Apparently ripping a page from the FBI’s public relations manual, Staff Sgt. Don Cole of Toronto police told reporters that the victim was likely an arsonist or attempting suicide. "He's not a strap-on al-Qaeda bomber guy," Cole said. "It sounds to me like a guy who either wanted to do a torch job or commit suicide” (edited to add: inside of a Tim Hortons with an incendiary or explosive device).

Back to 'other current events' methinks!

Okay Doug Hagmann says it was a terrorist, going against the official story being reported everywhere else.
Terrorism ruled out in T.O. coffee shop blaze

From reading the articel Hagmann came to this conclusion based on

Contrary to the official explanation, there is a strong indication that the explosive substance TATP (triacetone triperoxide), also known as the Mother of Satan and a homemade and very unstable explosive was used in this blast. This is the same substance used by "the despondent" Joel Henry Hinnrichs outside of the Oklahoma University stadium on October 1, 2005 - a blast that was ruled as a "suicide" and unrelated to terrorism.

This information is exclusive to the NIN, they are going to have to come up with more than that...

Looking at the website, these people seem like conspiracy theory capitalists.

Walk by there almost everyday...
The guy has still not been ID'd...
Even after autopsy...
And the way the cops went all-nazi and clammed up for hours and started blowin' unrelated stuff up...
makes one wonder about false-flag OP's...
and what we really are being prepared for...
I wonder how many CIA are in Toronto?
What's the next OP?
Hmmm... maybe an "accident" in the heart of the Moslem community in Scarberia (Scarborough)?

TATP is known as the 'Mother of Satan'??? LOL

One to scare the Christian fundamentalists!!

Only AQ link with TATP is that it's easily-made, goes bang, and kills people.

This thread needs moving!
