The new american black project - The UAV-22

www.dfw.com...

I've just seen this.

i find it hilarious. The US spend billions on a helicopter and then it just takes off on its own with a couple of engineers in the back.

On a more serious note if the US find out how and why the plane did this could they turn the V-22 into a UAV. A computer would find the landing which ive heard is a problem far easier. Also i think a transport plane would be the best place to introduce UAVs so this would be a perfect opertunity.

The V-22 is an excellent aircraft, but I fail to understand how one could just take off like that. Conducting engine tests, hey? Surely they would have retards in place to make sure no pitch and throttle controls got too near the red zones?

There have been problems with conventional aircraft moving during engne runs for years. The big thing with the V-22 is that it WILL take off instead of just taxi.
