Posting Tips for new members

Here are some tips that I would like to pass on to other members.




Tip 1. I keep a text file handy with bb code for images, font size, etc.

In the file I simply have

for images you have uploaded at ATS uploads, photobucket, etc.
[size=4][/size] to change text size to 4 (3 = normal)
[size=5][/size] to change text size to 5 (3 = normal)
[b ][/b] to change to bold text
[i][/i] to change text to italics

*note - use square brackets on all. Had to use curly brackets here, so that you can see the example.

More can be added to this list. I only have these, because these are the ones I use most frequently.

To use this open the text document while on ATS. Minimize it, so that it is always opened while your on ATS.

Place the cursor in between the tag pair. Type in for example your image url like this .

Select that entire line. Copy it, then paste it into your post.

When you close the text document, when asked to save changes, select no. (otherwise your image url will be saved there.)






Tip 2. Similar to tip one, but only for image urls.

I keep a list close at hand with my image urls, with tags in place.

The same thing can be done with hyperlinks.








Tip 3. Greetings to new members. Here is the basic template I am currently using for when I greet new members.

Always personalize the header of the post:

Hi membername, membername welcome, etc. Use exact spelling for membername, including capitals.

then paste the the body of the message. Post reply.
