sonic sound new weapon

millom town center in cumbria is setting up a sonic sound that onley people under 25 can hear its supoes to stop kids gathering. but with the new gps kids ok being intsaled on mobile phones. is some think more sinister happenring. what is the law about sonic sound levels.could be thay taging town centers ?

Wrong forum, old news.

The town has since taken the device down due to incomplete study on long term effects.

And to clarify it is not a weapon, just a device that makes sounds that only people under a certain age can hear. HEAR being the operative word, not kill with sound or make somebody deaf, just hear.

Ive seen the small gadgets that are making a sound to scare mosquitos away.. you can hear it but its a very low sound.. i know there are ones for scaring dogs away also... but scaring kids away this sounds a bit wierd..

Good thing if they took it down IMHO.

Newcastle Metro scared them of by playing continious classical music through the station PA systems. Worked a treat.
