I think we have to change our community before trying to make the public realize what the government is trying to do...How can gang related violence be stopped? What are your ideas?

If you give the gang members good jobs or put them in a monastery for 10 years they'll probably reform, so to speak. But all change must come within. So you would have to change their internal situation and subvert the gang instinct to a community one. Gangs are already "half way" there ... more so than a lot of Americans. But their focus is usually destructive and violent. I would say in general, if you wanted to change gangs you would have to become a gang leader. If they respect you they might listen to what you have to say. Otherwise its a good job or a monastery.

Gee,it looks a lot like that in Iraq, two groups with opposing views killing one another and everyone caught in the crossfire,Hmmmm.
Government Gangs, maybe they should put them in the military as a forced option instead putting them in the slammer, kill two birds with one stone.
Don't bring up the constitutionality of it,because it does not apply, but that is another story.....

Gamma...good point...of course the Government likes when they have dissension amongst the people. Its just so much easier for them that way.
