Yeah, Zacks roots are in hip-hop. He is another of my favorites. Not the best MC, but definately one of the most emotional. He has a way of speaking from his heart. More a poet than a rapper. Like Slug from Atmosphere.

I love the lists. Keep it up.

Immortal Technique is a very close 6th man on both my lists.

Also a huge Redman fan (Muddy Waters is in my deck right now).

Jin is an amazing battle MC, but IMO can't write a decent song to save his soul.

I almost missed this one.

Nas
Black Thought (the roots)
Gift of Gab (blackalicious)
The honorable Chris Parker (KRS1)
Eminem

I was waitin for ya Saph. I almost forgot Black Thought. He belongs at my #7 spot just for those couple songs on The Tipping Point where he just goes off iron lung style. Boom and Web I believe.

Anybody lookin for some amazing lyrical ability check out The Roots songs Boom and Web.

You listen to Immortal Technique Saph?

Yeah of course...I'm thinking Immortal is a ATS member. He be denying ignorance on every track. Dopeness, but I'm not sure where I would put him on any kind of list. He too real. Aint nobody on his level when it come to just spittin the truth...maybe Dead Prez but they don't even get as deep as he does--with the Masons and all the so call conspiracy theories.

sup, Immortal U2U me...j/k but I bet that dood come around here from time to time.

OOps. Public Enemy is the main reason I picked up books as a kid. I should be ashamed to have left Chuck out of my list. What is the world comming to when we forget the old school?
