One of the country's most politically conservative organisations has likened the federal government's new industrial relations laws to the former Soviet system of command and control.

The myriad of complex new laws would also create a system where so-called IR professionals would stand to make a lot of money sorting through it, the HR Nicholls Society said.

Well well this makes interesting reading.
If your not careful Mr Howard you will go down the same road as Bush that is he will alienate his core supporter base.
Surely Howards blant attack on state rights must set off alarm bells in some of his core supporter base.

Young people, who will get an opportunity to put their step on the bottom rung of the ladder for the first time, will benefit enormously."

Iv plently heard plently crap come from politicans mouths but this takes the cake. Here in NZ we have simila IR laws and it is still very diffcult for me to break into the job market. Despite simila IR laws New Zealand isnt a econmic power house.
Can someone explain to me how workers with less job security will be more productive ?
Step 1 in the improve econnmy plan aboilsh GST and other hidden taxs.
Step 2 more tax cuts.
Dose anyone think that the IR laws will cost the Liberals the next election ?

Its just the GST - Labor said the sky was going to fall then and it didnt. Same thing here.

Plus I would rather have JH and IR laws than that slob Beazley any day.

Dont you think that the GST increase the tax burden on the general population ?
So you are happy for wages to be driven down in order to keep a minorty happy ?
In 10 years when wages are stagnet a lot of people will be singing a differnt tune.
