And who says the Chinese don't sensor the internet?

I just notcied this, I'm not a big fan of Wikipedia...I use it sometimes and one of those times was ten minutes ago when I was looking up a biology chart that came up in a google search.

I click on it and get hammered with the "The page cannot be displayed" page. So I double check my spelling and try about 10 more times....from google I try to get wiki in a few different langauges and still nothing. All of Wikipedia is blocked in China.

Anyways, this is thread is more of a question I have than a conspiracy debate....there's a billion threads on this already, I could'nt think of a better thread for it so I stuck it here....also so people can know what's up with the Chinese gov't sensoring the internet.

Why does tinwiki.org come up in China, but Wikipedia does not? Are they owned by the same people, on the same server (I'm not computer smart)...just thought that cause they have the same color scheme and both have "wiki".

I'm not incinuating anything....there's no special deal between ATS and the Chinese government and mods are not spooks...I just wanted to throw that out before someone accuses me of bashing ATS and all that other trash.

Yeah, I know I'm late...this is old news.

In a lot of ways, I think China represents largely the entire world in a way. Just think about it.

The Chinese government (and many Islamic based governments)blocks a huge amount of information that can be accessed by its citizens. Now from an outsiders point of view this is probably to keep the government in power and the citizens powerless.

Now take a look at the rest of civilized world. Information largely is able to be accessed and discussed by its citizens. But we have a culture that is apparent in a way in the US where laws are being passed that are actually designed to limit our freedoms as we have known them.

I have just realized this myself, but the forces that are in power may be working just as strongly in the Eastern world as well as the Western world. If a NWO is to exist in the near future, it would make sense to get as many people as possible on the same mindset as far as personal freedoms are concerned.

There are any number of web sites not viewable from China. I know of a couple of hosting providers that have their entire listings of sites blocked. Oddly enough, none of them are porn.

England just recently blocked the whistleblower site that people could write in about government waste.

Forget about the freedom of speech or freedom to view speech in some parts of the world.
