I have recently heard of an NEO, or near Earth object, that if it hits, it will hit in the year 2030, also happening in 2030, Russia is supposed to have the technology to actually live on Mars, is this maybe a hint to them knowing that they will be hit my the NEO?

Thats very intresting, don't we already have tech. like that? Why would the pick the moon and not some place like Mars, too far away? Cost too much?

I do like the idea of an 'escape hatch' though, as time passes the fragility of the human experience on this earth is more and more in question.

I don't want to seem picky or anal about this or anything but shouldn't it read as: Russians planning to "Colonize" the moon in 2030. Not "Re-Colonize".

Or do you have some Hard Evidence proving One of the Variety of Known Theories or even Unknown perhaps that the moon is already Colonized or was in the past?

There is a NEO scheduled for a flyby for March 30, 2012, and if it doesnt hit at that time, it may well hit in 2049 (I believe that is the next flyby).

As far as the Russians colonizing the moon, they (along with the US) have been there since about 1961...

May 22, 1962 is the official date for the first Mars landing I believe.

NASA get's a hellovalot of money, but it's not enough as we've seen in Armageddon (not that far from the truth actually)...

They (NASA) can't be expected to see something thirty years away, even if it is the size of Texas or some other huge landform.

Actually the first attempted mars mission was 1986/87 and as I understand, it failed with the loss of the crew.

However, there is at least one very active moon base that I am aware of. Along with a number of X Craft bases in Alaska, Wyoming, and Australia to get to them.

I honestly do not know any of the official designators for the X Craft, except that the TR-3B is the one best known to the public.

Alright, I don't know several either...
I can tell you the X 59 holds the air speed record for manned aircraft (exempting rockets and space vehicles), and the X 74 was the replacement for NASA's space shuttle.
They killed the project after spending a billion dollars on it.
The governement certainly does waste money, but not that much, publicly at least!!

Kinda makes you wonder where all that money really is going, doesnt it?

I apologize, it is Mars, and we do not have the techno;logy to live on Mars yet, because one snag in the guys suit, and he could die. That is the main problem. They would send up supplies years ahead of the people that would live on Mars, then they would send up specially trained people that would leave their lives behind to help build a whole new community. Again, i apologize for my flawed posting earlier.

Actually we DO have the technology to live on Mars, as we are already on the moon. Granted, you have to exercise caution, as there are hazards, but it can be done.

From what I was told about the Mars mission in 1986/87 is that a joint US/Russian crew was sent there and did not return, due to "non-technical issues", IE, it was hinted that hostile actions were encountered and resulted in the loss of the crew.

It is interesting to note that immediately following this action, a large amount of money allocated to the mars project was immediately redirected to the (accelerated) development of HAARP.

sounds like a good plan...ww3 seems a little closer than usual what with america expanding it's "empire" and expanding rapidly as such.
