Interesting, but nothings going to happen, there are hundreds of 'end of the world' prophecys every year, the favourite is the 2012 one at the moment.

You know, i watched a special on the Tsunami the other evening and they asked one of the tribespeople why they thought this happened.

The man said: "The Earth is sitting on top of a tree...Mother nature gets mad at humans and the tree starts shaking and everything shakes on the earth and earth gets violent"

This is the best explanation i have heard so far. By the way, none of those tribesmen were affected by the Tsunami, including animals.

I really don't see the end of the world coming for at least another 20 years. Or that is what I'd like to believe because I'm turning 18 soon and want to live to see 40. So 20 years sounds good to me

Saying that Chavez is good and there is a lot of growth because of him..... Please, Chavez's mentor is fidel castro, and he says he is going to take Venezuela down the same road that castro took Cuba... That's not good at all. Chavez is another communist in hiding, he calls himself a socialist, like castro did before getting total control over Cuba....

That site is obviously socialist....and look at what is happening at socialist countries in Europe now.... they have more riots and protests than in the U.S.

The world is not comming to an end anytime soon. Very interesting predictions though.

I dont believe the world is going to end anytime soon, but if by chance the apocalypse started in 2012 i wouldnt be scared. Id just laugh and think to myself "wow whoever came up with THIS prophecy was freakin lucky"

And just how do you know nothing is going to happen eh? Unless you are pyschic which many people are..but fail to realize it, then you can't possibly be right. There could be...or there couldn't be. Like I always say, we shall see....what we shall see...

When i posted before i was merely trying to say that I could care less if the world is going to end soon. Live live to the fullest, be spontaneous, take a chance, and never regret what you did because you cant change that which has already been. Let the apocalypse come. You'll see me Ill be the one staring at the destruction and chaos screeming "Bring it you *****"

Maybe a prediction is not much more than a strong belief. If you believe in anything enough it will come true. However if a spark of events happen you will have many people believing on a deeper level.

Will it end in the next 5 years? Good question. With the research I have done on the subject I have seen more point to the next 5 years than any other time.

Yes we all know people have been running about stating its gonna be the end of the world many times in history's past. So why is this time any different? Well for starters the mayan calander. Mayan calander possible to be debunked? Next up the bible in stone it shows the down fall and end in the next 5 years. I have seen many other references to this time range as well.

Also consider what natural disasters have happened in the past year.
We have mudslides in India,Quakes in Pakistan,Tsunamis etc. I have read people try to state oh these things have always been happening. Have they really? Have this many people died in one year than any other year? Or actually answer that in percentage due to raise in population.

Two questions come to mind in such topic. How would you prepare and what areas will not be harmed.

There are so many web sites out there that predict the end, but do you think those who believe in Biblical prophecies would know first hand? No man knows when it will happen. However, there will be dramatic signs firsthand, sot of like birth pangs of a woman having a child. Yes, wars and disasters will come and go, but it will not happen while all of us on ATS are live. That is for the next generation to decide.

Aside from biblical prophecies, what's even more interesting are the 'latter day' prophets such as Edgar Cayce and Mother Shipton who both gave predictions for global manmade & natural chaos/destruction in the years following 2000.

its definitely not the end of the world but the world is going to change pretty soon

I can remember this kind of thing happening since the Hale Bop comet passed our solar system. Every year it is something different. They said 2005 was going to be a bad year and they were right, my checkbook still hasn’t recovered from that new damn water pump and tires my truck needed.

On a serous note, I do not think we will know in advance of our fate, that is, until it is too late.

I do not believe in end time prophecies, tough I do read and see a lot about that last time.
I do cross a lot of sites, documentaries talking about 2012 So what's special about it , can somebody explain me more about that date, and if possible with scientific facts.
Scientist, numerologues, prophets, all welcome.

Strange is that I'm beginning to belive these biblical stuff, though I hate christianism in particular because of their lies, invasions and moral dogma.
I also think christianism was made up and incorrect, opium for the masses.
They mention a lot of numerology things, the beast/devil and such things.
Is there anybody who had clear evidence that the world gonna collapse.
I do more think about a major shift, not a flood, but a big time economic crisis, closely linked to the oil peak and the economic restructuration wich will have to take place. Though the flood could be explained by the global warming effect which we humans created, but again biblical prophecies would clame that too.

I personally think the next era after the industrial age, will be the age of the eather or clean energy. Were things will be built from small things, think nano-tech, and were people will care again about nature, people, agriculture.

The reason I don't believe end time prophecies is that many predicted it before, escpecially in 2000. And that there are catastrophes every year.

Please tell what you think about 2012, and the current warming up of the earth.

No need to be a prophet to tell bad $#!+ is going down. THe world is messed up place, and at the rate we're messing it up, it will go down hill for a lot of people. But the end of the world isn't going to happen. The world will keep going, it's just going to shake some of us loose.

Besides, if the world as we know it stopped existing, and another world different than what we're used to arises, will that be such a bad thing?
