For those wishing to further tarnish their souls:

www.microsoft.com...

It's a pretty slick tab style browser with some nice features, and a much cleaner page display (fonts are a lot nicer).

Let the flames begin.

I'm skeered. As soon as I install it the leaks and hacks will flow into the underworld and i'll be toast in a comfy chair, watching my system melt.

Ah what the heck. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the link. (I hope)

Edit: I'm editing to add I think I just fell in love with IE7. I can create tabs rather than open a new browser window, I can customize like i've never been able to do before. I pray to God the bugs aren't to serious cause this is an awesome browser. With one button I can see all my tabbed pages.

For anyone else looking to D/L the beta version you do need to have XP with service pack 2.

I'm not a big IE fan myself! But what's it like?

Sounds like the tabbing function will be similar to the one in firefox?

I've been using Maxthon for about two years, it does the same thing,
the tabs are great, and no bugs so far!

I've tried it out, but I still prefer Avant Browser. IE7 just feels like it's dumbed-down too much.

I tried the IE7 damn thing said I was missing a file so it did not install.
But I did download the Avant posted by Captain Obvious, I like it, some good options but using it for the last half hour I really can't say much.

I agree that IE7 has been dumbed down, but at my age that is a plus, not a minus. I don't want to jump thru hoops to surf the web, I want to point and click and be done with it.

So far i've had no problems and actually like it quite a bit.

I abandoned I.E. about a year ago for the Firefox. When I do a spyware scan I get 0, but with I.E. I was getting dozens. Tabbed browsing, customizable features comming out the wazzoo - look no further than Firefox.

I'm really attachted to IE7 now, it has performed well, and in side by side comparison with Firefox. It delivers a more palatable page display (no contest when it comes down to fonts), and the features are intuitive.

Bill Gates is now also chewing all my food for me as well.

I use the Google spell check function all the time (including this post), and I get suggestions. Are you using the latest version of Google Toolbar (you have to download it again, there's no update function per se, or use the Google Updater package).

Do the misspelled words turn red?

I use Netscape 7.2, It has tabbed browsing. I love the tabs and I would try out the new IE, but my computer won't run Win XP.

Any browser suggestions for Win98 SE?
Netscape crashes a lot!

Small footprint, and very reliable.

You EI fanbois should thank Firefox for what they have done, which is give MSFT a good kick in the pants, which forced them to actually improve their browser. Does it have extension(not that I'm switching or anything, I'm just curious)

But there are claims of considerable extension capability upon release... We'll see.

Wow, I'm using it now, it rocks! I'll use it for a couple of days to make sure, but it'll probably become my default browser.

Thanks again for the link.
